Today we’ve got a pretty (in)famous shooter. It has a nice citrus and peach taste but a VERY crazy texture on the way down as you get some weird separation between the grenadine and Irish cream.
Not sure what I mean, then check out this special bonus episode of the show: Halloween Episode
Alien Brain Hemorrhage
3/4 oz Peach Schnapps
1/2 oz Irish Cream
1/4 oz Blue Curacao
Dash Grenadine (Syrup)
Layer in a shot glass. Add a few drops of Grenadine for “Hemorrhaging Effect.”
Alc. Rating: 5/10
Overall Rating: 6/10
Today’s drink is one of many drink variations, this one I actually didn’t even know I made before. Actually it was a blue tidal wave, this however is more of a brownish rum drink.
This version has a simple appearance which could be improved with a lemon wedge to bring some life into the drink. It has bits of citrus and rum aromas and tastes as well. It starts light with a sweet cranberry flavor. Mid palette you’ll get a sweet and sour rum taste, followed up by a tart spiced rum burn. It’s a decent drink, but certainly isn’t one of my favorites. It could be improved a bit with some bitters.
Tidal Wave (2)
1/2 oz Vodka
1/2 oz Gold Rum
1/2 oz Spiced Rum
1/2 oz Cranberry Juice
1/2 oz Sweet and Sour
Shake and strain into a chilled rocks glass.
Overall Rating: 7/10
Alcohol Taste Rating: 7.5/10
“Look out! Oh, never mind it’s pretty plain.”
Well it still might be a little early for some (myself included) to be thinking about Halloween themed drinks, so this one will work for both the holiday and all the annoying Twilight fans out there that also drink (which is probably a very small area on a venn diagram).
The drink is simple enough. Berry aromas to start, with a sweet start and a slightly sour finish with a mild bite (no pun intended). It’s a good themed drink, but it’s lacking in a lot of complexity so there’s not much to talk about. It tastes a bit like each of the constituent parts. Perhaps a drop or two of grenadine after shaking could add a little more flair to the drink, if it doesn’t get lost in the rest of the “red.”
Alc. Rating: 5-6/10

1 oz. Vodka
1 oz. Chambord (or other raspberry liqueur)
1 oz. Rose’s Lime Juice
1 oz. Cranberry juice
Shake and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. (Arm yourself with a stake and a garlic necklace).

Today comes a brand new MoM Original Cocktail. A tropical smelling and tasting sweet drink with a great overall look. Red, then blue, then red again. I couldn’t quite get a good photo of it, but trust me it’s a great looking (and tasting) drink. What’s even better is you don’t even need a shaker for this drink, so it’s pretty simple to make even for the first time mixologist.
Blood in the Water
1 oz Tropical Rum (3/4 pineapple 1/4 coconut)
Splash of Light Rum (Optional, extra space filler for larger glasses and adds extra kick)
1 oz Maui Blue Hawaiian (Or Island Punch Pucker)
1 oz Sweet/Sour
Dash Sloe Gin
Start with a single ice cube to a cocktail glass. Add Rum(s), Blue Hawaiian, and sweet/sour directly over ice cube. Stir Gently. Add dash of Grenadine (should sink to bottom). Add Dash of Sloe Gin slowly over ice cube. Should swirl and sit on top of the blue mix. Serve and enjoy responsibly.
